2020 News![]() 'A Place to Alight' - commissioned work - oil on canvas, 1500 x 11200 mm
2020 so far has been an interesting year for me. I started the year of with a group of lovely ladies from Australia staying with us for tuition. Due to the changing circumstances in our lives with lockdowns and social distancing, my Individual tuition sessions, classes and workshops have been deferred or squeezed into breaks when the community opens up for a time. So this year, my time in lockdown has allowed me to concentrate mainly on commissioned works. I really enjoy this side of my work and this year's commissions have allowed me to paint subjects which are very close to my heart, such as seascapes, landscapes and of course florals. I would like to share with you a commissioned Oil of Peonies and Casablanca Lillies that I completed recently for a client. This was a surprise gift for his wife for their Wedding Anniversary. This work is entitled 'A Place to Alight'. I understand that these are fairly unprecedented times throughout the world and I like to think that despite all the uncertainty and gloom that surrounds us in many ways, I help to provide images and reminders of the incredible beauty and miracle that is life in all it's forms. If you would like to peruse my inventory of prints that are for sale on this website, please go to the 'Giclee Prints' tab on the bar at the top of this page Kind regards and stay well, Paul Coney
